Message in the Drink Bottle: Recycle

Published by admin under Green Cars

First, people started to drink more water as a healthier alternative to soda. Now the packaging water comes in (as well as all other drinks) is the unhealthy part - unhealthy in terms of our warming planet. Some manufacturers like Coke & Pepsi are putting plans in place to tackle the recycling problem.

Message in the Drink Bottle: Recycle - WSJ.com

Things are starting to change. Following months of unflattering news coverage, press releases and even a resolution by the U.S. Conference of Mayors calling for research into the impact of discarded bottles on municipal waste, the beverage industry is stepping up efforts to promote recycling and use more recycled plastic in production of its soda, water, juice and tea bottles. Some companies are reformulating containers to reduce the amount of plastic.

In the same kind of vein as The Da Vinci Code by the author of The Bourne Legacy. Ludbader spins a tale about centuries-old warring factions within the Catholic church. His historical research serves as the solid foundation for a well-crafted plot about a substance said to have brought Jesus Christ back from the dead and to have been used by him to perform his miracles. Enough action to keep you going from front cover to back.

A “green” SUV vs an “Earth wrecking” Prius Hybrid

Published by admin under Green Cars

img_0317.jpgWhen is a SUV “greener” than a Hybrid?

Lets say a that a SUV driven 10000 miles a year and getting 20 mpg is using 500 gallons of gas a year.

Now take a Prius or any other hybrid car for that matter. Its driver gets let’s say 40 mpg and the Prius is driven 30000 miles a year. His annual consumption of gasoline is 750 gallons annually.

So who has the smaller “carbon” footprint here?

Obviously the “evil” SUV driver.

It aint what you drive, earth people, its how much you drive.
